Reflecting Back on the Day

We were unsure of what the weather was going to be like on the day of the wedding since all week we were hearing a forecast of thunderstorms. When the day arrived and it was going to just be overcast/cloudy, I was thanking God outloud repeatedly. Everything went so perfectly. From the lighting to the chemistry between the bride and groom during portraits, it was literally picture perfect.
During the first look, I loved how Bobby surprised Rachel with custom socks of their dog’s face. Their dog means everything to Rachel and she was sad that he couldn’t be there on their big day so that was such a special surprise! The ceremony was definitely unique as there was not just one person standing up at the altar during nuptials. Bobby and Rachel decided to have their siblings take turns during the actual ceremony. I am a sucker for heartfelt moments like this so I was on the verge of tears the entire time. After the ceremony was done and reception started, I had the unique opportunity to catch the bride and groom secretly walking away from the reception for a minute of peace and quiet. So I quickly put my ninja papparazi hat on and went creeping into the bushes to take some photos (lol). Documenting their wedding wouldn’t have been complete if I would have missed this moment. I want them to remember everything from this day, not just the standard stuff like cake cutting and formal dances.
Wishing Rachel and Bobby the best of luck in their new life together as husband and wife! Thank you for giving me the opportunity to photograph your wedding at one of my favorite wedding venues, Phipps Conservatory & Botannical Gardens.
