Interview with the Bride:
Maria: How long was your engagement?
Allie: We dated for 2 years, but were only engaged for about 3 months. We knew that we wanted to get married, and had crazy family schedules with people up North, as well as older grandparents we wanted around to enjoy the wedding, so we decided why not just go ahead and do it sooner than later!
Maria: Do you feel that was enough time to plan all of the details of your wedding day?
Allie: Do you feel that was enough time to plan all of the details of your wedding day? I do. Some people prefer a long engagement, and want a lot of time to plan and organize, and I think that’s great as well, the way we did it is not for everyone, but things really just kept falling into place so we figured why stress it. It was definitely chaotic at times, but I think if I would have had more time I would have ended up stressing out over every detail and prolonging the decision making process.
Maria: Why did you choose Buckingham Farms as your venue?
Allie: I’ve always known that I wanted to get married outside, as we’re both big nature lovers. We wanted something elegant, but not stuffy, so when we started looking for venues we came across Buckingham Farms and were both smitten with how beautiful it was and the farm to table concept for dining. We knew instantly this was us. We love gardening and are huge foodies, so it was perfect. We went and experienced the food and couldn’t believe how outstanding it was. After we went, we ate there 3 or 4 times before our wedding just because we loved it so much!
Maria: What was your favorite moment from your wedding day?
Allie: I can’t possibly chose a favorite moment. Everything about that day was almost magical. There was a moment when my Dad had just started walking me down the aisle and my fiance was waiting up there for me, and we locked eyes and saw each other for the first time (we didn’t want a first look) and I could read all the emotion on his face, it was so beautiful. We felt like we were the only two people there. Same with the first dance, it was so romantic to know that we were married and we couldn’t hold each other close enough.
Maria: What was the biggest obstacle you faced while planning your wedding or on the wedding day?
Allie: Trying to get all of the little details organized and together, all of the large and small decorating touches. There was always more that I thought I wanted to do and would stress myself out over!
Maria: Is there anything you would change, looking back at your wedding day?
Allie: Not a thing. It was by far my favorite day I’ve ever experienced. (oh wait, I would make a point to grab some dessert!)
Maria: Any advice to future brides while they plan their wedding?
Allie: Don’t worry about having to perfect all the small details. It’s not worth the stress and at the end of the day, no one will notice the things that weren’t perfect. Also, on the day of the wedding, make a point to savor each and every moment that you can, be in the moment, the day flies by in the blink of an eye. Oh, and be sure to grab some dessert!
