Belhurst Castle Wedding

Geneva, New York

Photographer’s Notes

Chris and Allison’s Belhurst Castle wedding in New York was absolutely beautiful. The views from the back lawn where the ceremony was held, were just breathtaking. The Belhurst Castle sits a top of a mountain, overlooking Seneca Lake in upstate New York. The weather was breezy and cool which is awesome for this Florida native! We started our day out with Allison, her mother, and bridesmaids. The bridesmaids dresses were a pretty shade of light pink which complimented the girls perfectly!

After the ceremony, we had a bit of fun with the wedding party photos, especially when we had to stop our shoot momentarily due to a couple in the far off distance who decided it was the perfect time to have a make-out session at the edge of the Castle’s property line, among the large shaded trees. I think they thought no one could see them as it was getting pretty hot and heavy. After the background was clear of any PDA (not affiliated with the wedding), we continued to stage a hilarious photo of Chris trying to run away from the bride! (Chris’s twin brother’s idea!).

We finally ended our time together right after the family surprised the couple with a choreographed routine to “Happy” by Pharrell Williams during reception. It actually started much like a flash mob. The mother of the groom started, then two more people, then four, and so on.

So without further ado, I am happy to share my personal favorites from their wedding day!

Happy Viewing,

Interview with the Bride

Maria: How long was your engagement? Do you feel that was enough time to plan all of the details of your wedding day?

Allison: Chris and I were engaged a little over a year. This would have been more than enough time had we not procrastinated!

Maria: Why did you choose Belhurst Castle as your venue?

Allison: Chris is well aware of my love of Disney movies and wanted to find a venue to make me feel like a princess for a day.

Maria: What was your favorite moment from your wedding day?

Allison: My favorite moment was walking down the aisle towards the love of my life surrounded by all the people we care about.

Maria: What was the biggest obstacle you faced while planning your wedding or on the wedding day?

Allison: All of the choices we had to make; this is not for the indecisive!

Maria: Is there anything you would change, looking back at your wedding day?

Allison: Nothing! It was perfect!

Maria: Any advice to future brides while they plan their wedding?

Allison: If your wedding is outside, skip the heels altogether! I kept sinking into the ground.
